Terms of Use
Terms of use of the KiffOS software and the kiffos.fr website.
This English text is a courtesy translation. The French version is the legally binding reference.
1. Acceptance
Installing and using KiffOS implies acceptance of these Terms of Use, in addition to the Terms of Sale.
2. License to use
The Publisher grants the user a personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable right to use the KiffOS software. The user must not resell, rent, redistribute, decompile or modify the software, or share their Pro license key.
3. Local operation and sovereignty
KiffOS runs its artificial intelligence, speech recognition and document processing locally on the device; no user data is transmitted to the Publisher. The Pro edition's connected features (mail, web, social networks, smart home, remote models) communicate only with the services chosen by the user, under the control of the built-in permission verifier.
4. AI-generated content
Responses produced by the AI may contain errors or inaccuracies. The user remains solely responsible for how they use the generated content and the actions they authorize; the Publisher cannot be held liable for decisions made on that basis.
5. Authorized use
The user agrees to use KiffOS in accordance with the law and not for unlawful purposes. The user is responsible for the third-party API keys and credentials they configure in the application.
6. Updates
KiffOS may offer automatic updates (via Sparkle), verified by cryptographic signature. The user may accept or defer them.
7. Liability
The software is provided “as is”. The Publisher makes reasonable efforts to ensure it works properly, without guaranteeing the absence of errors or interruptions. Its liability shall not exceed the amount paid for the license.
8. Termination
In the event of a breach of these Terms (in particular sharing or counterfeiting a license), the Publisher may revoke the license concerned.
9. Governing law
These Terms are governed by French law.
